Hey Mama is the phrase I began to hear when my oldest son began to talk. Soon, every sentence began with Hey Mama…Hey Mama, can I go outside? Hey Mama, can I have a peanut butter sandwich? Hey Mama, can you come play with me? Hey Mama, can you tie my shoe? You get the point, right? I’ve even thought about changing my name to HeyMamaCanI…This is a phrase that I heard so many, many times that it sounded like my new name. I got to thinking about that name. I got to thinking about how life changes. How we go through seasons of life and how we learn, how we grow and how we survive. I’ve been called many names, but this one is my favorite. I don’t know if I feeling nostalgic or getting old or have more time on my hands than I used to. But, I’d like to tell my stories about where Hey Mama comes from, where she is now and hopefully, where she’s headed. So this is a simple blog about me. A simple woman, with an extraordinarily blessed existence.
